The Well of Ascension (Mistborn, #2)

Wow, Brandon Sanderson uses this book to expand The Final Empire’s world immensely. Introducing more to the world, but building on concepts we already learned about without making it much more complicated. This definitely answered many questions, but it did feel like a lot of set up for the last part of this trilogy - so a portion of this is slow, deep, and a lot of build up - but boy is the build up worth it.

I really felt the effects of the loss of Keslier in this book, which was felt by the characters too - that just tells you how powerful the characters and the writing is here. There’s much more focus now on Vin and Elend, the politics of Luthadel, and everything the Lord Ruler left behind.

Overall this was terrific even if cursed by being the middle book, and it will definitely get you hyped for The Hero of Ages by Brandon Sanderson
