Mr Salary

This ~30 page short story can be read over a few sips of coffee. It’s very classic Rooney in the sense that its about tension in a relationship that may not be a relationship, their is an age gap, and of course the conversations are not in quotes.

Sukie is visiting Dublin because her father is dying of leukemia. She gets picked up by Nathan at the airport, and we quickly learn more about Sukie and Nathan’s relationship. Its described as a sugar daddy relationship, but strictly unsordid. I’ll let the details play out.

I think if you like Sally Rooney, you’ll like this, especially you’ll be done reading before you finish the your coffee.

I think its really funny that the goodreads list of quotes make up perhaps 10-13% of the story in word count.
